BHS Softball: What a Ride!

May 13, 2013

The game of life can provide us with a journey full of mountaintop experiences as well as the occasional venture into the valley. Some place so much emphasis on making it to a pre-determined destination that they fail to enjoy the trip along the way.

While it would have been great if the Bradford Softball team had been able to pack a State Championship trophy in their suitcase for the trip back home from Vero Beach last week, nothing can diminish what these girls accomplished during the 2013 season.

Yes, the season's journey came to a cruel end last Friday at the hands of a Gulliver Prep team that has won 4 straight State Championships.

But-the Lady Tornadoes will always remember the ride. And what a ride it was!

Thrilling comebacks. Shutdown pitching. Stellar defense. Historic achievements.

The really cool thing is that it appeared the girls enjoyed every minute of the entire journey. Smiles and laughter were as prevalent as the victories they chalked up week after week.

Tornado fans owe this team a lot for the memories they provided. The entire county developed a wonderful case of Scarlet (and Gray) fever-and no cure is in sight.

While the 2013 season is in the books and the trip is done, anticipation is building for the next leg of the journey.

Not a single seat on the BHS bus will be vacated for 2014. Coach Daniel Davis will have every player back for next season as there was nary a Senior on the 2013 roster. No doubt there also will be some new young talent ready to punch their ticket and join the fun.

So, no need to unpack. The ride is just beginning!
