TORNADOES SHOT DOWN THE FT. WHITE INDIANS

Good Evening Tornado Nation and Fans, this is Mr. Friday Night David Rodgers Voice and Play by Play Announcer for your Bradford Tornadoes bringing you this Edition of the WEAG Eagle Country 106.3 Blog for Tornado Football 2018.

The Tornadoes went on the road for the second time this season after a 1-2 homestand and after a dismal loss to Santa Fe Raiders, the Tornadoes was looking for a spark and they got it on the road as they travelled to play the 3-1 Fort White Indians and finally put together a complete game and they shot down the Indians 21-14 and brought their record to 2-3 and now in talking about trying to secure a playoff spot. We still have a lot work to do but it is a start and now we must carry this momentum into next week as we must travel to Jacksonville, Florida to take on the 5-1 University Christian Fighting Christians.

As for the game we did have 10 penalties for 125 yards and that was about the only thing that went wrong as Bradford still running the wide open offense just did not throw the ball as much as the offensive line broke open some monster holes in the run game and they racked up 43 carries for 200 yards on the ground as SR RB Jeremiah Vaughan had 21 carries for 121 yards and 2 TD’S and Soph. RB Eric Smith had 12 carries for 77 yards and we passed the ball for 54 yards and we did just enough to get this win.

Defensively we had pressure on the Fort White Indian QB all night as Jacquez Mosley and Company stuffed and shutdown their running game and for the most part the passing game as we spotted them 14 points and was trailing 14-6 at the half and came back out in the second half and started to put this game away and ran the ball all over their defense and took control of the game and the solidified it when it was tied at 14 and getting late in the 4th quarter as JR CB Nedro Davis picked off the Indian QB and took it 49 yards for a Tornado Touchdown for that 21-14 victory. This was a great gift for the Birthday Boy as he also played some offense and caught a couple of passes to include a very important 2-point conversion for that 14-14 tie.

Now the Tornadoes will have to ride out this momentum as the schedule now does not get any easier as they have to travel to Jacksonville, Florida to take on the 5-1 University Christian Fighting Christian the Number 3 Ranked Team in Class 3A.
